EPV Alueverkko’s operations
Our business is based on a small expert organisation that plans, commissions and supervises the operation and maintenance of the electricity network.
Long-term development of the network
EPV Alueverkko continuously and resolutely invests in and improves the network in order to make sure it meets customers’ power requirements and the ever-growing demand for renewable energy. Our customers are local distribution network companies, large-scale industrial concerns and the energy sector’s generation plants in Ostrobothnia, South Ostrobothnia, the Kokkola and Tornio regions, as well as in Iijoki and Kemijärvi in Northern Finland.
All network operation and maintenance are outsourced through service contracts.
The regional grid is operated by ENERIM Oy’s Operations Centre in Porvoo, 24 hours a day.
Power lines are part of the environment
EPV Alueverkko’s role is to ensure that everyone’s views are taken into account when planning and maintaining power lines in our network area.
EPV Alueverkko does not own the land the overhead power lines are located on; instead, it belongs to landowners. However, a restriction on the right to use the land has been acquired by purchase, giving the owner of the transmission lines the right to use the land they run on.
